BPMN template: Quotation process with customer
A customer inquiry runs through sales and warehouse and ends with a quote. Two pools show where your company ends and the customer begins.
What this diagram is for
Clarifies the hand-off between sales and warehouse and keeps your own flow apart from the customer. The customer is a collapsed pool (black box): only the messages matter.
Roles (lanes and pools)
- Sales: takes the inquiry and sends the quote.
- Warehouse: checks stock and lead time.
- Customer: external partner, linked only by message flows.
Decisions and events
- In stock? If not, the lead time is determined first and the quote still goes out.
